I must spend around 10minutes of my day unsubscribing from newsletters, which I have never signed up for. The type of unsubscribe page I enjoy receiving is a simple “Hi Lovely Mo, Sorry for spamming your email with useless junk, my@email.com has unsubscribed from Billy’s Newsletter and will be done ASAP” – simple as that. The kind of unsubscribe page I hate receiving is something like this:
Yeah great it displays the same message in different languages but have you really removed me from the mailing list? Which e-mail address have you removed? Who have you removed? When will it be executed? and no branding. I’m definitely not feeling engaged at this moment.
Today I received a boring newsletter and decided I wanted to not receive anymore newsletters from this great brand, I click the smallest unsubscribe link in the world with light Grey text and get this:
Note, this is newsletter from a ‘well known’ brand and their newsletter is full of branding but when I’m redirected to their unsubscribe page, all branding is removed, Who do I contact if there’s a problem? – pointless feedback.
What Makes a Good Unsubscribe Page?
I’ve decided to release a unsubscribe page template for free. This in my opinion is a useful unsubscribe page, but do let me know what you think.
